New Case Study: Successful Implementation of Digital Workforce Management at the LogServ Group

Together with the LogServ Group – comprised of Logistik Service GmbH (LogServ) and Cargo Service GmbH (CargoServ) – we successfully completed a major project to digitally transform workforce management. With this, we add a strong logistics reference to our industry network.
The starting point:
Before implementing the plano Workforce Management solution, shift planning at LogServ and CargoServ was carried out using a SAP-based system supplemented by Excel spreadsheets. However, expectations around user-friendliness, transparency, and mobile availability continued to grow – a future-ready solution was needed.
The goal:
To implement a centralized, intuitive, and powerful system for approximately 500 employees in the areas of on-site road transport, plant railway operations, and CargoServ. The solution was intended not only to digitalize shift planning but also to empower employees and relieve planners of administrative workload.
With the rollout of plano WFM – known internally at LogServ as the “iPEP” project – we were able to jointly develop and successfully implement an innovative, practical solution. Key components included the plano Roster and the myplano scheduling app.
The results speak for themselves:
- Reduction of manual processes through centralized, digital data management
- Increased transparency and autonomy via a modern employee portal
- Efficient planning enabled by real-time synchronization and automated reporting
- High user acceptance thanks to the active involvement of planners and staff throughout development
